Happy Thanksgiving!

Whew… the cooking is all done with the exception of the turkey. I've been cooking since 5:30 pm. The turkey is in a brine and it will be cooked early am. We are plannning on a noon dinner. :) My Mother and her Fiance are coming to join Chris and I for the feast. I sure wish the rest of the family could come as well. It's so hard for everyone to get together now a days since most families are strewn all across the country. Let's see how many states we have relatives in…

Grandparents: NC, IA

Aunts and Uncles: WA, MA, DC

Cousins: NC, Afghanistan, Thailand, KS,

Brothers and Sisters: TN, CO, NC, TX, IA

Parents: IA, NC, CA

I'm  thankful we are all doing well  no matter where we are and that the family (both sides) have wonderful homes full with food and love -  we'll be burning up the phone lines tomorrow telling family how much we miss them and how thankful we are for all that we have been graced with.

Wow Chris… this is the SECOND Thanksgiving we will spending together. Time sure flies when you're loving someone special and being loved back like I have. Thank you, honey for a wonderful year!

Here's our menu:

Herb Roasted Turkey, Mushroom Stuffing, Broccoli Casserole, Fried “Leather Britches” (green beans and bacon), Macaroni and Cheese, Mashed Potatoes and turkey gravy, Coleslaw,Cranberry Orange Compote,Biscuits, Million Dollar Pie, Jello Cake and Strawberries with Whipped Cream.

WHEW… I hope Mom brings her tupperware.
