Organize, Pigpen.

Neat freak has never been an accurate description of my style, though I wish it were.  In my early twenties I completely bucked the normal equation of home, stuff and how to keep it nice. Here lately things are different (ten years of experience has a way of doing that). Tuesday I attended a day seminar on organization hoping to tweak my current skill set and boost my energy to get and stay clutter free. The speaker was animated and knowledgable, two must-have keys to my attention. Learning new ways of thinking about how to handle “the daily juggle” has given me a fresh perspective. The piles of files are slowly making their way to a vertical position. Have you heard, purple hanging file folders are a must have for all you chic self-proclaimed neat freaks. (blowing on my nails) – 75 are in the vertical position at my immediate right as you read this, Pigpen. So – neh, nehney, neh neh. My Brother label maker currently has smoke circles coming from it.

Oh – I wanted to tell you the coolest thing that happened at the seminar! While I was talking to the immediate group  surrounding me I met: a local who manages a fishing rod making co., a dairy guru representing upper management, and lastly a lady from King county's HR dept.  When I mentioned I was working on a tech conference. Ms King county (I didn't get a business card – dang it) chimed in “it wouldn't be Gnomedex, would it?” I almost fell out of my rented seat. The next logical question from my lips was “how did you hear about Gnomedex?” (after I did a little dance and said – woo hoo – inside my head, of course) She said “I read about it on Darren Barefoots' blog.”

That gave me a really neat feeling, thank you Darren.  I love it when the world feels small for a moment. Especially when the catalyst involves a keyboard and the 'net. That was equal to a warm fuzzy or a nuzzle from a favorite puppy – internet style.  There is something deliciously 2005 about that, yum.

Hey Ponzi… would you believe that I know that stuff about purple hanging file folders and that I love my Brother labelmaker… you see, KNOWING and DOING are two different things! :P

Hey Ponzi. How come you and Chris have switched to partial RSS feeds? :( Happy organizing though!

A friend of mine gave me 4 hours with a professional organizer for Xmas, but I have yet to use it. I feel I cannot get organized enough to have the organizer come and organize me.

i think joz would cry if i made her go to one of those seminars.

someone get me the password to J_PIMPEN^(@hotmail.com
