My step-mother Teresa has suddenly passed away. Our family is in a state of shock. We are getting through this rough period together.
The circumstances were unexpected and my father prefers us to keep this matter in the family. Thank you in advance for your understanding and condolences.

My mother passed away just 2 weeks ago today and at work one day this week a fellow worker came up to me and said they were sorry to hear about the loss of my mother. To ease the pain for myself, I replied, “That's OK, we found her hiding in the closet 2 days later. She didn't really want to die!” Man, I get some strange looks with that remark.

Ponzi - I'm so sorry to hear about your stepmother Teresa. Accepting a loved one's death is never easy but you are strong and have a great support group — family and on-line. Hang in there and know everyone is thinking about you as you progress through the cycle of grief. Only the passage of time will help.

I am sorry for your loss Ponzi. I usually visit the blogs of yourself and Chris for some quick humor dealing with farting or something computer related, but sometimes the hard parts of life rears their heads and the joyful world we live in turns to temporary sadness.
I am from NC myself, and unfortunately I have had to deal with alot of family related deaths. My family celebrates such occasions as sadly it is things like that that bring the family, and miles of food, together.
I would spout of some biblical verse or famous quotation, but you appear to be a much stronger person then most people, and you have alot of people online supporting you, and a man at home that loves you very much. No matter what happens, you are never alone, always remember that.
