My impression of Chris & Gretchen divorcing was because (1) they were both very young when they married (2) they weren't alike in their hearts (3) it was all about him, his wants and needs, his career and not enough about her (granted, although she was lovely, she didn't appear to have anything unusual enough to propel her to a viable show business career). Chris was supposed to have turned over a new leaf when he met you, his "soul mate". Being afraid to write something because you might get it trouble sounds ominous to me. Only you will know if this is just a "bump" in the relationship or something much more serious. Geeks tend to be self-absorbed, that's one of the reasons they are geeks. This vacation has been a "preview of coming attractions" for you; do you want to stay around for the feature film? Or, is this the "publicity stunt" that Chris referred to in his blog? I hope not, because your friends/acquaintances in the blogosphere do care about you.

Of course, I haven't kept up with the ongoing saga that is Chris and all that is he. The first thing I see after about a year is him blogging his unhappiness about Ponzi. There are somethings that are not to be shared with the entire world and this is one of them. So what is going on here man?

Yikes, I just tuned in. Sorry to hear that you two are not getting along and not having a good time. I am kind of shocked myself. (I thought only OLJ and I argued on your blog- :))Good luck working things out.

It's hard when you feel like you can't write what you want to. I hope you guys reach a happy medium for the rest of the trip so that both of you manage to enjoy being together.

Darlin, a vacation with your partner ought to be relaxing. This is true especially if it's an expensive trip (which Hawaii would be). Vacations are usually a good time to spend with your sweetie bonding and having great sex, not arguing, blogging about the bad events and being unhappy. When you're at home these things are distractions, but if they are happening on vacation you might want to seriously think about your relationship and whether all the technology plays a sustaining role between you. If Chris can't have a good time with you on vacation, and he's complaining all the time without wanting to find solutions I have to say that it sounds just like the Chris I've met in person. At this age he won't be changing, so if someone like that is not who you want to be involved with for the rest of your life then you probably want to have a serious talk with him about your boundaries and get both his and your issues on the table for discussion.
On the upside, you could just leave him in the hotel room and go have fun on your own, sweetie. We missed having you at spa day and I hope you can come next time!--K
