Move Over, Imelda!

Shoes count as much as your makeup and hair.

a. Make sure your footwear isn’t scuffed or stretched out of shape from normal wear-and-tear.

b. If you love the shoes and they are looking haggard, go buy another pair of the same brand and style.

c. Match your belt to your shoes whenever possible. Easily overlooked, easily rectified.

How about not wearing open-toe shoes if your feet are not camera-ready? I admit I am a little guilty of breaking that rule- although I tried. It was so hot in Southern Ca, on Thursday, the nail polish literally melted off of my big toe and onto my skin. (I was in a rush getting ready to go to Blogher, and made an ill-fated attempt at a home pedicure.) All I could do to remedy the situation (as I was en route to LAX when it happened.) was kind of mash the polish back on to my toe, pat it down with my finger, and hope no one noticed I looked like I had painted my toenail with melted candle wax. (Until you took that picture of my chinese-inspired flip-flops- DAMN!)

I always buy shoes on sale. If they are both stylish & comfortable, I buy more than one pair so I have something to fall back on when a pair of shoes that I really like gets worn out.
