As I gear up this morning for the next ten days I’m filled with awe of what is to come. And, a little nostalgic about some stuff that happened a long time ago.

It was four years ago that I sat on a panel at SXSW to talk about blogging, intimacy, mask making and love online.

Sometimes when you are in the forest it’s hard to see the trees, life is funny that way.

The amazing Julie Leung was the fabulous futurist  of 2006 who saw what was coming before many of us did, even if we were living it.

Looking back now I can see  the forest clearly.

We were discussing and living the social side of online media and it’s consequences way before the genre of multi media interaction online was coined “Social Media.”

I’ve been quiet for far too long…

I have so much to be thankful for – in no particular order.

1.) Electricity – we had ours knocked out by a huge storm up here in the pacific northwest. Four days without power will make you a thankful geek or geekette as soon as it comes back on. :)

2.) A new house – new to us anyway. Two years new to be exact. I feel like a queen we have so much more room and no more smelly moldy closets to deal with. (whew)

3.) A husband who loves me and makes me happy.

4.) Family who loves me and supports me and my decisions.

5.) Friends and community who touch my heart again and again with their kindness and love. Our wedding was beautiful, just beautiful – and it was all because of our wonderful friends and family.

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend!

Chrissy-poo surprised me tonight with the gift… they’re awesome! I’ll never, ever take them off. You can see in this photo a second hole that’s a little red, because the setting was just a bit too big for it. They’re the best diamond earrings ever!!!

You can’t see the sparkle very well in the photo, but they really do look wonderful.
